Embracing the Holiday Spirit: Decorating for Christmas

Hello everyone!

As the holiday season approaches, many in the UK traditionally wait until December 1st to put up their Christmas trees. However, I prefer to get a jumpstart on the holiday cheer. After all, decorating for the season is quite the undertaking, and I want to savour every moment without feeling rushed to take it all down right after the big day.

Having lived in America for many years, I've grown fond of the tradition of putting my tree up before Thanksgiving. This allows me to fully embrace the holiday atmosphere and enjoy the warm glow of twinkling lights for an extended period. Thereโ€™s something magical about the festive season that makes every corner of the home feel special.

Personal Touches in Holiday Decor

Each year, I love to switch things up a bitโ€”changing ribbons, adding fresh foliage, and rearranging ornamentsโ€”while still holding onto my beloved core decorations. Itโ€™s a delightful blend of nostalgia and creativity that keeps the holiday spirit alive.

For me, the holiday season is not just about the tree; itโ€™s about creating an inviting atmosphere throughout the entire home. Here are some of my favourite shops for embracing the holiday spirit in your own space:

Balsam Hill: The premium supplier of artificial trees. I love their prelit trees as they speed up your setup process considerably.

RTfact Flowers: My go-to source for stunning artificial arrangements. They offer everything from garlands and table centerpieces to beautiful door wreaths.

Layered Lounge: A fantastic option for rattan trays and dinner candlesticks that bring warmth and elegance to any table setting.

Zara Home: My go-to for stylish home accessories that elevate the festive atmosphere.

Rebecca Udall: A great shop for beautiful table linens that can make your dining experience feel extra special during the holiday season.
